Amazing jacket! I highly recommend this product. Bought last winter to layer with the convex vest. Durability is great! Warm enough to wear in 30ish degree weather. For colder days I will layer with a merino long sleeve. The convex vest and another down vest over. Love Voormi gear!

Coat fits a little big, would like to try a large, but wore the coat once.

Terrific looking and very comfortable

Great garment. Many of VOORMIs garments fit my body type differently. This particular garment along with the confluence hoodie fit perfectly in a size large while the high E hoodie and eleven nine hoodie fit best as an XL

Overall a great jacket. The neck runs a little tight, but not a deal breaker. Warm as a midlayer on a cold day or alone on a cool day. Blocks wind only at a light breeze.

I have a number of your products. Really like this jacket. Good midlayer for cool weather. Need a shell in the wind though. Comfortable and soft feel on skin. When it's really cold though - like Korea recently with -8 to -12°C and wind - I needed a puffy down vest and hard shell to keep warm.

Was down in Pagosa and picked up a couple of your pieces this summer. Excellent quality gear. The price point is high, as it should be for this type of product. Phenomenal local construction with best in breed materials. This drift jacket is my "go to" on chilly Colorado mornings on the river, or in the city. Great fit and finish. I have even worn it as a midlayer when snowbiking. (layering voormi wool with under a Klim shell = comfort up high and in wind) - awesome stuff. Keep it up.

This is an excellent layer for what it is. If you like layering and need something without a hood, this is a great layer. It is a similar weight as the access pullover.
Unfortunately, The “new” drift jackets are not the heavy warmer layers they use to be. Voormi needs to specifically state what they are. They are the drift lite jacket not the drift jacket.

Love my 2nd Voormi as much as the 1st or maybe more! This one is a tad lighter fabric and longer body. Wore it all 3 weeks in CO and especially helpful under rain coat with drenching rain pelting me on horseback in snowmass last night wkd

This may very well be the Holy Grail of a merino-fleece jackets. I was hesitant to purchase because of price, but I'm beyond pleased with this jacket. The construction and quality are the best I've seen for similar merino garments. Fit and style are also excellent. And it's versatility is impressive. Shown here, I'm in transit in Dublin Airport, in a section of the airport that tends to be hot, crowded, and stuffy. With all my gear on my back, I was still comfortable and cool. At other times while traveling, when temperatures dropped, the Drift became a cozy layer of warmth. The Drift has now earned a key position in my minimal carry-on-only pack. In Winter, the Drift paired with an insulated puffy jacket is all that's required. And the fact that it's sourced and built in the US is even better. Thanks

This is a great jacket! Very well made, light enough but warm enough. Love it!

My husband bought this jacket a couple years ago and loves his. I decided to splurge and get myself one. I’m 5’9” with a slim build and long limbs. I enquired about arm length before purchasing as I was debating between a women’s medium or men’s small. Great customer service helped me confirm I should go with the men’s small. It arrived quickly and fits great (arm length and hips). The women’s may have been cut differently to fit more snug through the body - but I’m happy to have room to comfortably wear a layer or two underneath without things feeling tight. Wore it as a midlayer all last weekend in a cold and rainy (if you can believe it) San Francisco and it saved my bacon! Would have frozen without it. Worth every penny!

I bought a medium and that feels like the correct size for me. The shoulders and arms are snug but that isn't much of a problem. The material is soft and great to have on. I have only worn it around town so far more as a sweater and it is very comfortable, I like hem drawcords which the jacket doesn't have, but I would still highly recommend it.

I love my High-E hoodie in XL for backcountry and was using it for everyday wear and have put in maybe 200/250 days wearing and abusing it with great performance and durability. I wanted something for everyday, in and outside, that I could layer over work shirt. And throw on when temps are between 25F and 50F when leaving the house in the a.m. The full zip on this piece makes for easier to On/off, it’s step toward more professional looking for me. It has good coverage given my long arms/torso without feeling long (high-E seems to have more coverage which is appreciated when outside for days). And there is no epoxy drips stuck to the front (Whoops) like I did to my hoodie. I’m a fan

Very pleased with the fit and feel of the jacket. I looked at the reviews on size and decided to go with a large as I wanted a more loose feel especially if I wanted to wear more than a tee shirt underneath. Sleeves are a little long but I did order a large and expected a little difference. All in all very pleased with the quality, fit, feel and color and would recommend to anyone looking for a stylish and works as described jacket.

This review is only for the fit as I did not keep the jacket sadly.
I am on the skinny side of an athletic build at 5'7", 138lbs, and a 29" waist, but I was still hoping the "athletic" fit of the small would work for me. Unfortunately, the jacket was too long and lost it's "athletic" fit in the torso which made it look too baggy on me. If there was a hem cord on the jacket to keep out the cold and help with the fit, I probably would have kept it.
I will say the arm length, shoulders, and chest fit really well, but I had to return the jacket since the fit wasn't what I wanted for the price. The build quality also seemed top notch and it's hard to believe it's wool. I do own another Voormi piece and have come to realize their description of "athletic" is not an athletic fit that works for me.

I love my Voormi products!!

After much procrastination, I bought one of these and love it. Perfect for all day use. I get compliments all the time on this piece.
Plus I have a sense of pride wearing a locally made product. Thanks!

I love the look and feel of the jacket. It's a perfect fit and a perfect layer for a Florida winter day - it's not so bad bad for Pagosa weather either! Totally love the jacket.

This was a Christmas present for my husband and he loved it.!
My only complaint is that you charge 13-15$ for shipping a 260$ coat. That’s pretty obnoxious

I bought this jacket to replace a fleece mid layer and also to use as a lightweight outer. I used it for 2 weeks as a mid layer under my ski school outer jacket and it was great. It seems to have a wide temp comfort range. Wearing it as an outer layer it performs best at temps of 40*F or above. I liked the color (cinder) and received a few compliments on it's looks. The outer finish looks to be pill proof but haven't had it long enough to say with authority. I fell into the range between a M and a Lg and decided to go with the Lg. The arms are a little long but bearable. The length is slightly on the long side but is concealed when worn under my outer jacket. I'm an old fart and I must say I feel a little bit "hip" when wearing my Voormi, but only insiders really know for sure.

Although I like the Drift Jacket a lot, I still can't imagine paying $250 for a mid-weight jacket. Really haven't worn it under normal use conditions yet although I wore it under a shell jacket in Denver over Christmas when the weather was very cold, blowing, snowing, etc. I need the sleeves shortened although the chest, shoulders fit fine. I'm glad they can be altered but charging another $15 (altho reasonable) seems to be overkill. Why not leave the sleeve length unfinished and include the alterations free as part of the substantial cost of the jacket, achieving a perfect fit? After this ski season I'll have a much better idea of how well it performs and wears. The staff in Pagosa Springs were very knowledgeable and helpful. Hey, I bought the jacket!

First off have to commend the Voormi customer service folks. I messaged them on a Sunday and actually rec'd a reply back from Brian that evening (they were closed!). I initially ordered a Medium Drift Jacket which was awesome but was bit short and tight around my shoulders. I have an athletic build so it's always tricky when I purchase something online - certain companies, such as Patagonia fit me as Large and other's as a medium. Since it was a little small for me I returned it and within 24 hours of my return they shipped out a Large. The large fits perfect. The sleeves run just a little long (but the cuffs are small enough to stay put) which is perfect for climbing and riding my MTB. The fit along the shoulders is not constrictive but not baggy. Fits like a true athletic type jacket should. Pretty much form fitting. My wife loves how it fits on me and now she wants one! Love the color (Chestnut) and the quality of the fabric, zippers, and overall construction are top notch. Looking forward to wearing this in the mountains and it feels right at home in an office setting. So appreciative of a company designing and manufacturing clothing stateside. Looking forward to purchasing a hoody from Voormi soon. Also purchased the thermal beanie. Same high quality and fit is perfect (large). It's my go to beanie.

good jacket, great material, but this one is shorter than the first one i bought a few years ago. wish the length in the back was longer like the first one.

Shoulders tight..(L)

This is my favorite go to layer. I wear it all the time, in the field and in town. I will be buying every color.

I bought this jacket for my husband. Grateful for the previous reviews stating height and weight to ensure I picked the right size. The large fits him perfectly, and we love the uniqueness of the sage green color. Quality product, super warm, and stylish. Worth the money. I had to buy one for myself. *Of note, I am beyond pleased with the customer service of this company. They were out of stock when I originally wanted to purchase. I searched around without success. I called the company and left my name and number, thinking "I'll never hear from them again." But sure enough, they notified me as soon this jacket was back in stock to make sure I didn't miss out again. Thank you Voormi!

Love the fact that it's water repellant. Perfect for steelhead fishing in the Pacific Northwest!
Karl M.
Great jacket, very soft inside and what looks like will be a hard wearing outer face. True athletic, close fit. I wear a size 38 jacket, and this fit perfect despite the listed measurement of 40 for a small. I think if you wear a 40 jacket you will need the medium. I do wish the VOORMI was smaller, or absent, to make this nicer around town--the sleeve logo should be enough as it is a good looking and distinctive logo.

First, a comment to the lead up to writing this: this is how reviews should be set up, where questions about the reviewer's size are asked, thus giving the reader/prospective buyer better detail on sizing. Well done, Voormi.
This is not a review of something I just pulled from the package. My first Drift went straight to Yellowstone, where it worked as both middle and outer layer. Under a down jacket when slogging through snow for a good wolf photo, and outer layer (two inner merino layers) on skis in the back country.
As a heavy mid-layer, as Voormi touts it, its close fit makes it a great layer. As an outer layer that close fit isn't really jacket fit. Thus, as a mid-ish layer, perfect fit; as a jacket layer it's a tad close.
The current Twilight Drift I have (the first jacket had a zipper problem and Voormi replaced it) hasn't been plunged repeated into the snow by a clumsy skier (that would be me) carrying camera gear and breaking through the crust while trying to climb hills w/o skins, but it's the same material so I'm sure it will remain just as comfortable and dry as the first one.
This material is truly remarkable. I've been trying to find the perfect jacket for years, or over 15 years that search has been focused on wool-based materials. The Vermont wool company has figured deeply in that search, and I own enough of their pieces that most of my activities--from work to all types of play--are covered. But, that ideal piece, the one that turns light rain and snow, and wind, while remaining highly breathable, stretchy and comfortable, has eluded them and, thus, me.
This is it. The Drift is the jacket I've been looking for, and it's been to Yellowstone's winter snow to the Alps in the Fall to Grand Canyon to (my most favorite) Big Bend NP. The sleeves are the length they need to be to not ride up, and the same can be said for the length, which is kind of long for a mid-layer, but perfect when the outer layer comes off. The collar is the right height to cover the neck without crowding the chin, and the material stretches to give all over with movement.
Nits? Too much badging: the V is a nice touch on the sleeve, even the V on the back-middle, though large, isn't too bad. But a third badge--the name--on the left chest is a bit much. I understand a young company advertising its wares, but for those of us who have rejected really nice garments based on not wanting to be a billboard for a company, this verges on billboard.
The only other nit to pick is weight and bulk, and how I'm more likely to take something else in a pack even though this would be perfect for the trip. But, to get all these attributes, I don't see how that can be changed. The Drift is just too perfect for too many situations to change it in this way.
Jack A.
Love the jacket but do not like all the advertising on it
Karl M.
Very nice jacket. I was a bit concerned the small shows as 40 in as I wear a 38 jacket and have a runner build. But the jacket really does fit like a small. I really like the exterior, it feels like it will wear a bit better than my Ibex, but at the same time the interior is nice and soft--good fabric design. Also the sleeves are nice and long, which is usually an issue for those tall and thin--smalls often have short arms and this doesn't. Overall it is a good looking jacket--though as another reviewer noted, it would get a higher review without the rather large, highly visible "Voormi" on the chest--the sleeve logo should be sufficient and would make the jacket classier for wear around town. In the field I guess it doesn't matter that much, but for this price being a walking billboard is a bit unfortunate.

I bought the Large the Medium was way too small, and the x-large was too big. The large was almost perfect. I am a long person and most larges don't fit my arms, but this one is spot on. The only thing is a 6 foot 3 person needs just a little more length on the jacket. You do want to live in it. The soft inside feels so good and the outer layer perfects you from the wind and weather well. My son loved my jacket so much he had to have one as well. Mind you he is 17 and does not want anything father has to say. But the jacket sold it's self. I am very impressed so far. Should be a life time purchase. Thanks for making this beauty.
Jeff T.
Fits a bit snug, like the euro jackets.
Keeps me warm; but wish it had a hood.
Blur is better, but needs to be more durable.
Like to try an inversion, but Voormi is sooo expensive.
James W.
PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the light weight yet it's amazingly warm! Awesome
Jon W.
Love this jacket! It's very versatile temp and sport wise plus it's more durable than my Smartwool. Love the cut and the thermal channels inside. It has become a quick favorite. Living in Steamboat you come to appreciate nice gear with our Moutain climate and the Drift jacket brings up my expectations.

I love this jacket so much, i first bought it in colorado, a Cinder in X-Large, I finally wore it into the ground. Being a slim guy, the coat fits snugly and wonderfully. Now just waiting for the X-Large Cinder to come back and that coat is being replaced in seconds flat!
Johnny M.
love the jacket, and i know its supposed to fit tight, but i need more room! PLEASE PLEASE make more in Mens Large. i am not a big guy, and don't mind athletic/snug, but the medium is to small for me, even though the size guide puts me there. i've been waiting for an email saying a large is available and it just doesn't come...i settled for Med and its too tight. this jacket should be your clydesdale, pump it out in Large before spreading the line with new options. thanks!
Brian M.
A wonderful jacket. Soft, warm, and well-made. My only gripe is the excessive logos covering the jacket. There is a logo on the back and on the arm, and the company name on the chest. I'd prefer not to be a walking billboard.
Tara W.
Loving our jackets!

I have yet to be able to wear it... can't wait. I am returning it for a large when in stock.
