As a 6’2” outdoors woman, it’s REALLY hard to find performance gear that fits me in length. The body of this hoodie fits me well, and the sleeves go to the base of my hands. I do wish they were a couple inches longer. However, this has been the best I can find lately. Material is excellent and hardy; wicks well during strenuous activity but also surprisingly warm when resting/in cooler weather. I have used it out riding horses (durable!), backpacking, and while on the river. Vroomi, please keep making long-fitting clothing items, and consider a custom/tall option!

The river run hoodies are my go to for everyday casual wear and outdoor activities. It keeps me cool and protects from the sun! I have a smaller frame and the medium gives me a perfect relaxed fit. Highly recommend!
Sarah M.
I love this color but was worried it would be hot since it’s a dark color and a little heavier fabric than a previous river run hoodie. I ended up camping and mountain biking in it for my first wear and it was a great layer when it was cold and I didn’t overheat on my mountain bike during the day. I also don’t feel like this shirt will snag like my light grey river run hoodie;-)

Lightweight and a great fitting shirt.

I am 6'2" and ~158 lbs. As a tall woman who does outdoor sports, Vroomi is one of the few brands where the sleeves/body is long enough for me. PLEASE keep this up, as it's so insanely difficult to find outdoor performance gear that is long enough. I ordered size M and it fit well; I could always do with an inch maybe longer in the sleeves, but hey they the ends of my wrists which is so much better than most brands.
I really love this pullover! Wear it for hiking, climbing, camping/backpacking.... Great, moisture-wicking and cool material, even on the sweatier/hotter days. It's also tough and withstands brushes against rock while climbing and snags against branches.

Bought this to take to Europe. We're hiking in Italy and Ireland, two different climates. Ordered a medium. I'm petite so the shoulders are a little off, but that's okay. However, I have curves and the hoodie is made for someone that doesn't, meaning it's a little tight in the chest. Large would have been way too big in the shoulders. I think this will be okay since I'm taking thin base layers. Can't wait to use it!
Donald L.
Delivery was a little slow.
Love your stuff otherwise.
Lisa K.
Nice warm base layer. The XS fits well. Nice feature to have the button at the neck to give a little more warmth when the hood is up. I wish the sleeves were longer with a more robust thumb hole.
Ashley K.
I’ve worn this skiing resort as well as backcountry twice now. It wicks super well and keeps you warm. It regulates your temperature really well. One piece of feedback is the fit. It’s weirdly tight on the chest and I have a b cup chest. This restricts movement and makes the shirt less comfortable. It rides up over my chest and creates a “lip”. I love the performance but fit could do some work especially with so many other merino options out there.

About this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas and I also on one. We both love them.

Keeps sun off face. Hood useful to pull over brimmed hat n shades. Very light.

Wear kayaking and hiking. Keeps sun out; can wear brim hat n shades.
The dark colors, while fine in Gulf Coast Texas winter fine, suspect dark color, iffy in hot, humid summers. Wear all time now.
Tara C.
River run hoodie is the best, I have one on right now!
N J G.
Wear to keep sun off kayaking. Has button hood and thumb holes. Attached photo does not well show garmet, as i wear under waterproof jacket in winter, pulling hood over hat for more protection. Washed cold water; hung dry. Very light.
Also wear hiking. Not sure dark color best for humid, hot day.
Appreciate hood button
And thumb hooks

I tried backpacking for the first time in Patagonia and Osprey and Big Agnus. Luckily I met thru-hikers who told me to return my sh*t post-haste. So now, I’m sporting ZPacks, Appalatian Gear and Voormie. I’m as frugal a girl as you can find. I’d never have dreamed of dropping $129 on a garment. But my River Run hoodie is worth it. I’ve logged about 900 miles in it. JMT, Transcatalina, southern PCT. I can wear it for a week and guess what? It. Don’t. Stink!!! Plus, I’m thin-so I run cold. It has a button that is under my chin. So I can button it up to increase neck warmth. Pro tip? When you’re crossing a river, have the guys close their eyes, take off the Voormie and do a river-dunk! A wet hoodie’ll keep you cooler than a dry one

10 out of 10. Great design, amazing comfort and durability; after months of use it looks brand new. Thanks for making this hoodie.
Susanne H.
I used the hoodie every day this season when I was on trail. It was perfect! I hiked the John Muir Trail and the hoodie was great protection against the sun, it worked well with a heavy backpack, and hardly smelt even when soaked in sweat.

Disappointed in the purchase of my second river run. I bought this due to my first one being two years old, being in all my pics and beginning to get holes. After the 2nd wear of this it began to have 4 holes that are now large making this unable to wear. When I emailed customer service stating, I washed it as advised, this was my second wear while backpacking (holes in areas with no clips red) and taking great care I was questioned EXTENSIVELY. As a backpacking guide I won’t rep a brand that doesn’t stand behind their gear and trust that someone who makes minimum and spends big on a shirt won’t take care of it. Go find a better lighter weight and cheaper shirt.
Wendy W.
It is most form fitting and comfortable. Not tight, just comfortable. I love the way the fabric feels! Love the hoodie and the extra button. Nice job VOORMI
Elizabeth B.
I ordered a small, which was huge! Shoulders way too wide, sleeves way too long. Switched for an XS, but the fit is odd...I'm not big, but the shirt runs long & narrow, not "relaxed" as described. I'll keep it, but wish it were a tad wider! It's quite thin, so should be good for the heat. Haven't tried it out yet.
Chris N.
My favorite go-to shirt for everything I do outdoors! Warm, ultra comfy, and the hoodie is an extra bonus!
Guada I.
I absolutly love your River Run top!!! I love the hood's generous in size - I think the hood is the best part of the shirt. I just wish you will make more colors. I have 4 of them. By far my favorite top on my closet. Thansk yo for making such lovely garment. Please do more colors!!
Steffany K.
I love all my Voormi and it is slowly taking over my closet. It is my go to shirt when doing anything active.
Darcy D.
Ordered a size Large because I wanted a bit more airiness for hot weather, sleeves a bit long but otherwise fits as expected. A medium would probably be a better fit, but I will usually have another layer underneath and use this mostly for sun protection.
joanna c.
I bought this item after a friend recommended it to me, so I had no prior expectations. I wore it for the first time out on a 3 day backpacking trip and absolutely loved it. The temperature was around 70 degrees and under shaded trails I was comfortable. The hoodie is breathable, comfortable and just what I needed for a lightweight warm weather hiking shirt.
Sam H.
I have a Voormi Diversion hoodie that is an XL, so I originally purchased an XL in the River Run Hoodie because of this. I had to exchange the River Run Hoodie for L. The sleeves were way too long and the body was too wide in the XL size. The L fits perfectly! I can wear the River Run on a warm day by itself and not get too hot, but stay warm enough in the shade. Love this shirt, and all my Voormi gear. Also, their customer service is top notch. Exchanges are super easy with no questions asked.
Puja P.
I love my pullover . It's perfect for all types of weather. The hood is a great option.
Jim B.
Got it for Christmas , large size. It’s a nice garment, 1st Voormi piece!

Gift for my wife. We have a home in Santa Fe and drive to Colorado frequently. Have been buying at Pogoosa Springs shop for past few years. Quality and functionality doesn’t get better.
Laura F.
I like it. I haven't used it in a technical situation but have worn it around town. It is comfortable and stylish. I am hopeful it will be durable and not stink!
Christina F.
I. Love This hoodie! I just supplemented the one that I have pretty much worn day in and day out for 4 years. I wear it as sun protection when climbing, trail running, and hiking. Light as a feather and doesn’t stink when I do :-)
Janet G.
This is my third river run hoodie. I'm a huge Voormi fan. The slate color is beautiful. However, the sizing appears to have grown more generous with this iteration. It is both wider in the core, and shorter, by an inch, in the length when compared with with two other RR hoodies. I normally wear a small but will switch to an XS next time. Please bring back the night vision pink version!!!
Cianna W.
I spent so much time looking for a sun hoody that has good coverage (length of body, length of arms, big enough hood), is flowy enough for air movement, and is made from wool. Thank you for making this piece of kit in wool! This is now my go-to Search & Rescue summer shirt. I went down to 4 stars because the fabric isn't particularly soft, but hopefully some of the scratchiness will wear down after a few washes.
Martina R.
Love the hoodie! Great fit and extremely comfortable. Will buy from this company again.
Sarah C.
This is a fantastic top. Thank you! I ordered a large based on other reviews (my size is usually a medium) so that I can wear this over light tops in the summer, like a pullover. The body fits like a medium that is not too tight, but the arms are extra long and the hood is big. It still works well for what I need.
The color is great too.
Robbie H.
Started out with a medium but due to the athletic fit, moved to the large. The size large gave me the extra room to make it a bit more comfortable. I’ve been wearing it almost everyday and love it. Even on very hot days, it stays cool and with a slight breeze, even better.
Ali S.
Love this hoodie and have it in grey as well, which seems to fit a little looser than the blue. Wish Voormi fabrics didn’t pill as much-we are avid buyers and everything we have has pills.
Angela D.
I LOVE the river run hoodie! I wore it every day on a recent week long river trip. The first few nights were chilly and my new favorite shirt kept me warm as a second layer while sleeping. It was comfortable and warm on cooler mornings and protected me from the sun on hot afternoon hikes while the lightweight fabric allowed breezes through. I have long arms and the arm length is perfect. There are so many great features: no stink, dries fast, comfortable in many conditions, hood for bug/sun protection and feels and looks great. I didn't wear it under my PFD because I think the wool would chafe my sensitive skin, but on it's own the fabric feels soft to the touch. The only negative I found is that the elastic thumb hole straps already look worn. My husband says it's sexy because of the flattering fit and drape of the fabric. ;)
julie m.
I love this hoodie. I wear it for sunny days and to give me an extra layer on cooler days too. The fit is very flattering.
Brianna W.
I got a second River Run Hoodie in XS limestone (kind of an off-white with a lime green logo). I have an XS in Ash, and that one feels on the tighter side. I think next time I’ll get a small to try to replicate the slightly looser fit, like my limestone one. It is my favorite top for spring time trail running! I’ve been wearing it snowshoe running and out in the blazing hot sun! It’s so versatile, and it keeps my ginger skin from burning! I want to replace my entire upper-body wardrobe with one of every color, but I’m poor, so I’ll just slowly add more. I hope Voormi keeps adding colors! Maybe one in Juniper color (pretty please!)?
Sharon M.
Tried out my new River Run hoodie as a base layer on a chilly winter hike. It kept me comfortable under my outer layers and the hood kept the sun and wind at bay on a local summit. I hope to try it out next month on an actual river trip.
stanlee l.
I purchased the medium. I should have bought the small. Never the less this is not an issue for the company. I just wear it differently. I use it now over longer shirts. My next one will be a small. Washes wonderfully. Only line dry. Wear with the skirt. Used while traveling was a perfect layer in temperate climate .
Liz R.
Girls at the Bozeman store are great!
Andrea W.
Like that extra button , it makes the hood more snug & I expect it will hold my hair in place in windy conditions. Excited to wear it out to trek in Japan in November.
Love the ruby colour
Isabel B.
I love this product. I bought it right before a river trip over the 4th of July. It arrived promptly. I wore it a couple days on the river, but it easily snagged and it pilling. I am a bit bummed because I LOVE the weight and fit. This could be my error, but I was hoping it would be more durable.
Jennifer S.
The River Run is the perfect hiking shirt...lightweight, comfortable, breathable, and sun protection. I have worn this shirt for many backpacking and hiking adventures, including a 19 day John Muir Trail trip. I love that a single button has been added to tighten up the hood in windy conditions. My original River Run shirt did not have this feature. If I could change anything about this shirt it would be the lineup of women’s colors. The only offering in my size is dark green...this is not ideal for all of the exposed hiking I do...the dark color just absorbs the heat. The dark green is a very unflattering, masculine green. Also, mosquitos supposedly are more attracted to dark colors. My first River Run was a multi-color blend of light blue, grey, and white. It was the original color of the River Run. It was perfect for hiding sweat, dirt, and reflecting heat. I wish they would offer a multi-color blend for women that included some more feminine colors. If the color options were better for women, this shirt would score a 5 from me. Otherwise, it is perfect!

I love this hoody!! I got it for better and more breathable sun protection during fastpacking and backpacking trips. I usually wear it underneath another shirt with low UPF. Combined they should give me adequate UV protection. During really hot weather, I wear it on its own. I find that it breathes very well. I wear it at night as a baselayer top in 3-season temperatures. Thanks to the merino wool, it doesn’t stink nearly as bad after several days of sweaty running/hiking compared to my polyester shirts. I went with the XS because I prefer the tighter fit. I like the elastic wrist cuffs and thumb loops. My favorite feature is definitely the hood; while there is no tightening mechanism, it is very roomy and fits loosely, thus allowing more air flow. It stays on my head while sleeping at night, as well. The material is very thin. My experience with past merino wool products have shown that it doesn’t hold up for long, so I will mostly wear this shirt underneath a more abrasion-resistant one. The only things I don’t like are the initial itchiness (it goes away or I stop noticing it after a few hours) and the limited stock. I would have preferred lighter colors that might not absorb as much heat from the sun, but they’re never available anywhere and the current stock is very limited, so I had to choose the darker shale (basically a dark grey). I wish it came in more colors! Maybe a soft purple/violet or teal! I hope more come in stock soon, because I’ll definitely fill my wardrobe with them. I feel that the price is worth the breathability and weight of the merino wool.
Airlia G.
Great breathability and the blend is not itchy. Great for an outdoor run in chilly temperatures with a vest for core warmth.
Doreen L R.
Love this hoodie! lightweight and warm.
Kate S.
What an amazing price of gear, super breathable, hard-wearing (2200 miles of the CDT before they needed replacing) and comfy as hell. I won’t hike in anything else now. I prefer a loose fit so I ordered a slightly larger size than usual.
Traci C.
I love this hooded top for hiking, rafting, and hanging. It protects me from the sun AND looks great. It never stinks!
Dagny D.
I have been a whitewater guide for 10 years. Each summer I spend about 4 months straight outdoors, and due to sun exposure last year I finally had a small chunk of skin removed. Although the last couple years I have tried to be more serious about covering up while I'm working usually my shirts end up stinking something fierce, get shredded from heavy use, or just feel uncomfortable from daily wear. I've been on a holy grail sun shirt search for sometime now.
I LOVE my Voormi. At this point, I've only used it every day for about 5 straight weeks but with 5ish more weeks to go in my season it looks great. I love that the gray pattern makes it so that even on morning 6 of a week-long trip it doesn't show any signs of dirty (despite probably being super dirty--especially around where my lifejacket constantly rubs on it). I love that I can wear it almost all day every day for a whole week and it doesn't pick up on my lack of showering at all. I love how cool it keeps me when it's wet, how warm it keeps me if there is a chill, and how my skin doesn't need gallons of sunscreen every day.
In daily use the only signs of wear are small threads trying to unravel from where I've snagged it on sharp rocks or trees while bushwhacking in the backcountry. However, that being said-- the way that this fabric is sewn, where these tiny bits of thred are trying to run away would have caused full-blown holes in other wool clothing I've used in the past. I am very hard on my clothing and I'm super impressed with the durability of this piece.
Cannot wait to add more to my collection.
Tara P.
I’ve been living in my river run hoodie since I bought it a few weeks ago. It is the perfect thickness for summer in Salida and cool mornings in Denver. It doesn’t smell even after several wearings, has washed up perfectly, air dries quickly, and looks great. I also love that the logo is understated. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
stanlee l.
this shirt is beautifully made. it was tooo small. I had to return it. I had bought if for a trip overseas. I will probably reorder in next size. I have other tops in a size small that fit fine. I would have loved to keep it for travels.
Anne
My go-to baselayer for backpacking and mountaineering. It keeps the high-altitude sun at bay, sits comfortably under midlayers for alpine starts, and regulates beautifully when the temperature rises. I've been impressed by the fabric's durability against sharp granite: hardly a single snag after several days of climbing.
Jenna D.
My boyfriend recommended that I get this top because he has 2 and love them. I bought it before our backpacking trip to Canyonlands and it saved me from a lot of sunburn! Plus it was light enough that I didn’t overheat while hiking in the desert heat. I got a medium based on comparing my measurements with the size chart. It fits great - long enough sleeves, not too tight, great length. I’m obsessed with this top and am excited to bring it on many more adventures!
Tema M.
I was looking for a lightweight long sleeved hooded merino wool t-shirt for sun protection on high altitude backpacking trips and found the Women's River Run Hoodie. I was very excited about the product. I ordered and XS because that's this size I wear in Icebreaker and Smartwool (I'm 5'0 110lbs, althletic build). The XS shirt was way too tight and the sleeves were a bit long, so I exchanged it for a S. The Small is too big - shoulders too wide, hood too big for my head, sleeves too long and wide, but the torso width is better. The fit is better for a tall thin person, not a short muscular person. I do find it odd that the torso is snug, but the arms are too loose - I have muscular arms and shoulders. It is just an odd fit. Icebreaker and Smatwool products usually fit perfectly in XS.
Laura H.
the material is quite thin, but having said that it seems warm. the only thing i do not like about the hoodie are the sleeves at the wrist. the picture online shows a tighter fit at the wrist instead of it being quite large and loose around the wrists. might be that i had to purchase the XL as the L was sold out, but would prefer a tighter fit at the wrist.
CC
Great piece of gear. Have worn it in all seasons -- some examples: as a base layer skiing in Tahoe, as my only top for a 3 day backpacking trip in the sierras in the fall (though I did wear a down over at night), to paddle boarding in Hawaii in the summer 85F. It's been in the ocean, rivers, and snow. Love it!
On me, it fits a bit short. It's not skin tight, I can layer under it with something thin. If I get another (and I do want another!), I may size up just to see how it fits.
Susan B.
I had to talk myself into this purchase because of the cost. However, I have worn the shirt six times in the last two weeks, so I can tell it is going to get plenty of use! It is warm enough in cool weather, as a top layer, which says a lot because I tend to be cold easily. I bought a small because I wanted to wear a light layer underneath it, and I usually wear an XS. This is perfect.
Angel M.
The Hoody feels great and is the perfect layer for summer and late summer nature wanderings and river play. As a girl that lifts weights, the fit is fairly tight for my usual size, with a size larger too big. That said, it still looks good and I am stoked to have it as part of my technical wardrobe.
Kathy C.
Such a soft and light feel! Will be perfect for a fall hike.
Sarah W.
I live in this hoody! Warm on chilly days and keeps me cool and protects me from the sun on hot adventures. Not to mention it's incredibly soft. Highly recommend this!
Adria J.
It was lightweight, but kept me as warm as if it were a bulky fleece. The "thumb straps" are my only disappointment. Would like to see thumb holes that were stitched to keep from fraying
Christina F.
I LOVE this hoody! It disappears into any bag I have and is ready to deploy when I need just a little more warmth or to ward off the mosquitoes or sun. It fits really well. Keep making them!!
Joni D.
Just got it in time to head to McCall Idaho work perfect!!
Katy B.
I love the return of wool clothing and it is sooo much better than before. This shirt is perfect for keeping the sun off while not heating you up. I like to wear a ball cap under the hoodie to keep the sun off my face. A potential improvement would be to add the pony tail slot. A minor complaint - I don't like to spend big $$$ to be an advertisement. I don't mind the V emblem but would prefer not to have the brand name tattooed to my chest. I don't buy Guchi, either.
Hallie
Wore this for sun protection on a hike in the Grand Canyon (in white; just a sports bra underneath). Temperatures ranged from 50s to mid 80s. Comfortable and cool, loved the hood. Like the simplicity of the style and good fit.
Tiffany L.
Great product...so glad a splurged!
