Been part of the Voormi from the very beginning when they were in a small building, and the trailer, and the products just keep getting better and better. My River Run Hoodie is my go to in every season, whether standing in a river fishing or just going out to a restaurant, it is the perfect weight. In fact, wear it in Florida in the evenings when it gets cool (yes, that does happen occasionally) or early in the morning. You won't be disappointed.

Seems to work so far.

My 2nd River Run hoodie. I like the new buttons to close the neck and the improved finish on the sleeves. The new color is really rich and looks great. Works well on warm days in bright sun and as a super soft base layer all day comfort.
Amy P.
This was a gift for my husband. The color is even better in person and it is so soft. I plan to buy more.

This is my second Voormi River Run. My previous one did not have the thumb loops sewn in the fabric, only thumb loop cords attached to the sleeve. That worked okay but I found it offered less coverage for my hand. This current updated version is perfect. It still has the same light weight that I enjoyed with the previous one but also provides more covered for my hands while hiking. I'm 6'1, 200lbs with a medium build and the XL fits nice and loose which I enjoy. That allows for more ventilation and the option to wear over a T shirt when it's colder. Great product and well made. Thank you
Anderson W.
Great product and keeps the sun at bay! Blood comes right out of it too!

I have a River Run Hoodie that I’m loving to death. I wear it for almost every type of activity I enjoy so it doesn’t get much of a break. It has had holes and rips and pulls. The shop in Pagosa has taken care of my favorite thing, fixing all the abuse and even added a button to it so it stays put with the hood up on windy days. The service was fast and inexpensive. Thanks everyone at the shop for great a product and quality service. Cheers,
DAS

Great quality and fit. Easy to order

Second River Run, might have to get a third. The best shade shirt I've ever owned. The materials perform unbelievably. Took my other one up Denali and down the Grand Canyon, and just got the new one. Wasn't sure about the buttons but love the look and function. Best shade shirt on the market

Love the River Run Hoodie!!!
Bought this for camp-wear on an upcoming thru hike. I like hoodies when sleeping in a sleeping bag because it affords me better temperatures control. Looking forward to wearing this as I barely take it off now.

I wore a (singular) Voormi River Run Hoodie for all 2650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2022, from Mexico to Canada. This was one of my favorite pieces of gear. Believe it or not, it never smelled bad - or if it did, it washed out in the next laundry. It was the perfect weight for both the desert and the High Sierra, through heat waves, and layering under my puffy in snow and rain. Super comfy and durable. It did wind up wearing out under my pack's shoulder straps by the time I got to the Canadian border, but I was able to patch it up to get me through the whole way. 5 months on trail.
I'm hiking the CDT this year and bought a new one for this new adventure. I've tried the competitors, but this one is worth every penny.
Steve J.
Really like your hoodies but a price increase and charging for shipping for a $139.00 order + tax priced you out of my justification range.

The new design with the buttons is fine; I was really disappointed to see that it was made in Vietnam!
I have many pieces of Voormi gear and have always liked the fact that the company supported USA jobs and manufacturing; really disappointed to see that Voormi has slide to manufacturing overseas in Vietnam instead of here in US
Michael C.
The buttons being exposed caused multiple tangles with my fly line at times, only negative feedback I've got.
Steve S.
Excellent update the buttons and improved thumb loops increase the versatility of this shirt.
Dave
I've been waiting for these to be back in stock in my size for months, so pumped they finally were! Fabric is beautifully light and new thumb loops appear/feel much sturdier than the old ones (at least based on photos of the old ones, this is my first). I'm generally between a S and a M size these days, finally decided on a small and it fits perfect (5'10", 145 lbs), just the right amount of room for a sun shirt. Haven't had a chance to take it on the trails so can't speak to durability yet, but loving it around town.
Bryce B.
Absolutely love the river run hoodie! Very comfortable!
Chris U.
I've had the River Run Hoodie (red) for about 2 years now. Extremely comfortable, perfect fit in medium for me (5'10, 163, slim athletic build). I love that I can wear it, sweat, hang it up, and wear it again without odor that synthetic shirts hold. Perfect for traveling. Only minor complaint is some piling of material but that is expected with any wool product. Best part is clothing made in the USA which is nearly impossible to find.
TIm C.
Amazing at regulating body temperature keeping me comfortable in a wide range of outside weather conditions & temperatures.

This hoodie is not of the same quality that I have come to expect from Voormi. I have a High-E and a confluence hoodie and both have been super durable and look like the day I got them after years of heavy use. My river run hoodie had threads bunching and fraying out on the chest and stomach area after two times of wearing it around town before having washed it. I haven’t used it with a backpack or during any strenuous activities yet but I’m a little worried how much it may wear during anything more than wearing it like I would a cotton tee. Aside from the durability problems, the design is well thought out. The thumb loops are great as is the button on the hood which really makes the hood useful in all types of windy weather. The fit is great, though the sleeves can feel a little short at times, and i love the color (the darker blue).
Rollin H.
This is, I believe, my 8th?
What more do I need to tell you?
Ethan P.
Great for layering or for those warm(hot) days at the crag or river! Despite how thin it is, it is surprisingly warm at cooler temps.
Kent G.
I absolutely love all the clothing! I own numerous pieces already and only want more! Time to clean out my closet to make room for some Voormi wear!
Connor M.
I really do NOT recommend this hoodie for most outdoor activities. I bought it so I'd have a shirt I could wear while I was active outdoors and in the sun. I go fishing, sailing, backpacking, and running.
My very first time wearing this shirt, the velcro on the jacket I was wearing caused multiple runs in the fabric and my left thumb strap separated from the shirt. When I say multiple runs, I literally mean dozens of pulls in the fabric that will turn into tears if I don't laboriously use the 'Snag Nab It' tool Voormi support recommended I buy to fix them before the next use.
I don't know if all Riverrun Hoodies are this fragile, but given my experience I absolutely don't recommend buying one if you think you're going to allow it to touch anything other than your body.
It IS lightweight, it DOES fit well, and it seems apparent that care was put into this product. The upsides just don't outweigh the downsides for my (and I think many peoples') use case.
Alex
From hiking in forests, along the coasts, alpine lake hikes in the sierras and in the Mojave desert this shirt has been through it all and has held up excellently. My favorite go to piece of gear. I have two and will pick up another when they have a few more colors again.
David K.
I ordered my first Voormi river run about 5+ years ago. It’s still in my closet though a bit worse for wear. I feel like the fit on the new version is cut different ( a less athletic fit ). I prefer the original cut to the new one and was disappointed at how the garment fit had changed. This is still my favorite garment for a variety of activities and conditions. Love it for fishing on a hot day or a thin layer for skiing. I’ve tried lots of competitors and it’s still the best.
Bill S.
I think the quality of the product is of the highest caliber. It’s best in class.
Matt T.
Like all Voormi gear, it's great!!
Leaf S.
I've worn this top for tons of hiking and backpacking in cool weather, but it's biggest test was last summer in Iceland. I used the river run in conjunction with the merino tee for several days backpacking the Icelandic highlands on the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails. I stayed warm through the chilly morning starts and cool through the warm afternoons. We had great weather mostly, but some misty mornings didn't stop the fabric from being comfortable. The River Run and the merino tee are my go to for just about any activity in the outdoors. The hood is so great at keeping sun off my neck and head. I need the SPF but not a huge fan of reapplying sunscreen so this is a great option. And it's so comfy once I'm in camp and just hanging out. If it wears out, I'll definitely buy it again. And it's so great to have a USA made outdoor product. For me, this offsets the slight premium price.
Wayne
This takes "relaxed fit" to the next level. I'm literally swimming in it - and not a good way. I own a High-E Hoodie, it's a glove, and I live in it in the winter. I got this for cragging in summer months and, honestly, will likely return it. It feels like I'm wearing a box bag. I'm short, athletic built, climber and normally wear a medium.
John W.
I love Voormi products, this does not at all disappoint!
Padraic R.
Great sun shirt. Wicks away sweat, especially if you wear a lightweight wool t-shirt under it. Hood fantastic combined with a front-brim hat. Make the constant 11-13 UV rating days on our Kauai vacation survivable for me.
Gannon D.
Best tropical salt water fly fishing sure I’ve ever owned. You guys should really target this market. I tell all my friends about it. I live in Key West and literally wear them daily.
Tanner K.
I’m sorta in between medium and large depending on the brand, after trying the river run in medium and large I decided on a large. It keeps the sun off and dries quickly but since it’s wool it feels a little warmer than a synthetic sun shirt when it’s wet it also doesn’t stink like my synthetic shirts do! When the blowdown color is back I will be buying a second one
Joseph M.
AWESOME
ALWAYS AWESOME
Gena S.
Love the quality and products!!
Anton P.
Love this shirt!!! I would much rather have one of these then two of the others out there!
Timothy M.
Awesome shirt using as primary wear for PCT Thru hike. Notice after fist couple of days fabric pulls. Still keeping me warm and shaded from sun.
Susan E.
Love it!!
Live in Hawaii. It's the perfect weight for cool windy evenings on the beach.
Christian S.
Just spend 3 days in variable conditions in the west texas hills, logging 48 miles over 3 days carrying my bow looking for deer. The first day I wore a Sitka Apex hoodie - which in full disclosure, I really love. But... after a day, it smells. And if I can smell it, so can the deer. I wore the River Run for the next two days, and despite the addition of rain and wind/dust to my sweat, it felt fresh until I took it off. Just an amazing all around product. My only suggestion would be to re-think the hood. Something a little tighter would maybe catch the wind less and blow off, but that's a minor detail. keep up the great work!
Ryan L.
Love my river run hoodie! BUT, before you order, know that they upped the size of this. I have an older version that's a small, and this new small fits like a large. It's so baggy that I'm going to get it altered so that it fits better. Customer service was great, it was so much bigger than my old one that I thought it was mislabeled, and they were able to confirm dimensions and such. The River Run is my go-to for all backpacking trips. Wore the last one for so many nights and it protected me from the sun and never stunk, even after 12 straight days of backpacking and only rinsing it off in lakes/rivers.
William O.
So thin and breathable, but also kept me warm in the shade!
Kandy A.
We love the product we have purchased since our trip to Pagossa Springs. Our son is an archiologist and fly fisherman his Dad is an avid Bass fisherman. So everything we have bought over the last 2 years has been great for both of them.
Shamon W.
I got this shirt a few months ago and have worn it for weeks straight climbing, hiking, etc. It never starts to smell! This is exactly what I was hoping for. I tried the Patagonia Tropic Comfort and the polyester shirt just stank after 1 day use. Don't go with Patagonia polyester, go with Voormi merino wool blend! This shirt fits great, protects from the sun, controls temp and is tough.
Rod T.
Great hoodie. Super light weight but yet enough warmth as a base layer. Wore it for several days and it was as fresh as the day I put it on.
Ryan C.
I really love this shirt. I am in between sizes in most brands. I ended up ordering a small and a medium to see which would fit better. I ended up keeping both because I can see using both of them in different situations. I bought this hoodie for warm weather sun protection, since I live on Oahu. This hoodies has done well in rainforests and on dry exposed ridges. I really love the material and how light it is. I hope it lasts me a long time.
Wes w.
The most light weight hoodie I've found. I have most other fishing brands u.v. hoodies as well as hunting hoodies, and the Voormi is my favorite in the woods and on the water.
Benjamin C.
comfortable. an every day piece of gear in summer to keep sun off and good when things cool a bit at night. Love the hoodie, straight up or over my Voormi cap. Your products do not disappoint.
Clay H.
I’ve worn several brands of sun hoodies, and this one is my favorite so far. Very well made. I have it in 3 colors. 5 stars.
Gannon D.
Great for sun protection. Wear the river run hoody on all my tropical fishing trips, including this one to the Seychelles!
Martin R.
Love the hoodie! Have a few of them that are in an almost daily rotation. I use them everywhere from hiking up in the cascades to around the park with the dog to around the house almost every day!
Will C.
Amazing gear that is really differentiated.
Allen D.
Got the River Run for Fathers Day. Have used it everyday for a week straight without washing. on purpose. Fishing, hanging out at the river, and horseback riding. Absolutely love it. No off smell. Just dunk it in the river when I got hot and it was fine. I need to get other colors.
Adam F.
I ordered the Medium Pebble. Medium almost always fits me, but this product runs a little large, probably because it's a relaxed fit. The biceps area is pretty baggy, when I usually fill out the arms. I have a medium Voormi Short Sleeve Merino Tech Tee and it fits perfectly. I'd like this product better if it were athletic fit.
Mike R.
I need a 3xl for broad shoulders. 2xl is too narrow. You dont seem to make anything in 3xl. Very disappointing

Incredible shirt! The thumb loop stitching failed and it began pilling within a couple of weeks though.
Todd
I used this as a wind/sun shirt over a week in St. Martin. It performed perfectly, and has instantly become a favorite piece of gear.
Lasse Jon Marquardt F.
Great!
Matthew C.
Love it. Wasn’t sure about a poly merino blend but it works well. Don’t love white as everything shows on it and I’m messy plus wearing it outside to work and play... make a green camo and grey camo please. Wouldn’t work for hunting using the poly though you’d have to go full merino or a merino bamboo blend.
Spencer H.
I was confused as to how you can offer a $130 shirt but I’ve figured it out now. The moment I touched it my mind was blown. It’s so soft and supple, and this material feels like nothing else I’ve ever owned. This shirt makes my other shade shirts feel like grocery bags. I am nervous I will never wear them again.
Scott w.
Have another piece which prompted me to buy more. So versatile and comfortable.
Eric N.
Awesome!!! I don’t know how else to describe this shirt. Wool is king!!
Colt
I wanted to love this shirt- My friends speak highly of this brand and their quality. The fabric is thin, which is nice. However, after only a few wears the garment has snags and holes in it. I take great care of my clothing in the wash- For the price, this isn't great. I have other, similar shirts that have lasted much longer and cost only a fraction of the price.
Brian C.
I've only worn this hoodie 2 days, while snowboarding, which is the reason I purchased it. I'm tall with long arms and the size medium fits me nearly perfectly. It's very difficult for me to find tops that fit me in the chest (narrow) and arms (extra long) at the same time.
The second time I wore this while snowboarding I only wore one light wool baselayer tee shirt, this hoodie, and my parka. I tend to run hot when active, so this minimal set up was perfect for me as long as I kept moving. It was a relatively warm day on the mountain, 30 degrees at 8am, with temps rising. Overall a great baselayer. Most people will want a mid-layer for sub freezing temps, or if they run cold.
Margaret S M.
I have a couple Voormi ultra lites for Florida fishing. Perfect for Winter night fly fishing and Florida cold day rowing
Scott W.
Hard to explain why this garment is so perfect, but it truly is the top piece i own. I wear it biking and fishing pretty much everytime i go out.
Brent S.
Perfect fit for an athletic frame. Love this jacket. May be a tad heavy for lightweight backpacking compared to down alternatives, but it is perfect for everything else. Got one for my wife also who also loves hers.
Michael W.
After 4 years of section hiking the PCT in my River Run, I just took delivery of new one in black. This is my favorite piece of clothing on trail.
Bill S.
I love the products. Great outdoor wear. Nothing better
D S.
Backpacking in the German Blackforest. Ordered Medium. Fit is true. I'm 5'10", 170 lbs. Own Two RRHs. Superb shirt performance in the Rocky Mtns, kayaking in the U.S. Southeast, in SW Asia, and across Europe. Thanks for great products and and a great company philosophy and focus. Cheers
Nicole M.
This is my first Voormi and love it. Its a perfect weight for the fall and provides great coverage from sunny days on the trail. I even wore it as a layer skydiving and it was great.
Joe
I thru hiked the Colorado Trail with my voormi. it was perfect against the hot sun and cold breezy mountain passes. I own a lot of sun hoodies, but this is the one I keep coming back to.
James M.
This is a top shelf hoodie; functional design, the fit is made for action, and extremely comfortable against the skin.
Joseph C.
Fits great, awesome sun protection especially with thumb loops and hood button, wear alone and won’t become smelly for awhile! Must for adventures, especially on the river!
Steve G.
great product! excellent breathability
Nicholas C.
took the shirt for 5 days in Eagle Cap wilderness. It is now my go to shirt for trekking. Light as a feather, breathable and surprisingly insulative. Kept the sun of my neck and FaceTime a champ! Love this shirt!
David G.
First cam across Voormi on vacation in Crested Butte. Loved the quality and feel of the sweater at the shop but being close to the peak of my weight I did not think I deserved to spend that kind of money on myself. Then COVID-19 hit and I decided to come out of the pandemic better than I went into it. Five months in and I was down 25 lbs and most important from an XL to a L, time to treat myself...
The lightweight is perfect for cool summer evenings in New Hampshire or as pictured great to warm up after a 30 minute swim in the lake. Today I am using it in the office and trying to have the impact on my clients like Steve Jobs in his black turtle neck. Oh well you have to have aspirations!
John H.
Awesome lightweight sun protection and stays warm higher up the mountain
Clayton S.
Amazing shirt. I was wearing it all the time and decided to get a couple more. My only complaint is that it snags super easy on the old fish hook. Other than that it’s top notch. I have worn it in 90 degree heat on the river and it kept me cool all day.
Cory T.
My entire family has a River Run Hoodie (they make GREAT gifts) and we utilize the garment for fishing, rafting, fly fishing, hiking, almost any outdoor scenario you can imagine. The hood is amazing for sun screening, and insect protection.....the wool is warm, and cool, drys quickly and breaths well. I personally own 2 of these River Run Hoodies and wear them year round. Best quality, VOORMI is the best outdoor gear on the market! Period
Shawna G.
Bought this shirt for my son for his birthday and he loves it! Wore it on a hot 80 degree day to Mesa Verde and said he was never to hot in it.
Roy P.
This River Run hoodie was a great investment! I was caught in the middle of two colors Chalk and Cloud. I ended up getting Chalk and I love the color. I was looking for something, reflective of the sun, lightweight, breathable, and something to cover me up from the sun. I found what I was looking for! I took this out for a bike ride for two hours and I was sweating, I hung it up when I got home to let it dry. It dried pretty fast and it didn't even stink! I was impressed! I would totally recommend this for hiking and for any outdoor recreation in the hot sun, I live in central Texas and it's hot here all the dang time!
Kari B.
great quality hoodie, the 4th one I have purchased for my husband. Long lasting, light weight, excellent for many sports including skiing, hiking, golf
Mark R G.
This is a wonderful hoody .. I fly fish, hike, bike, ski and this is going to be an all-season "go to" when I head into my closet. Soft, comfortable, great fit .. super satisfied !!
Wade O.
I love having a hooded sun shirt. After I feel like I've maxed on UV for the day, I cover up, rather than use greasy sun screen. If it's really hot, I get it wet then wear it dry to keep me cool.
GARY B.
Fits well. Very comfortable.
Josh B.
I have two of these and live In them, I find myself wearing it more so than not. Awesome product, from a greater than great co.
Thanks
Ashley G.
I was standing on my porch wearing the blowdown pattern when some strange guy walking by called out, "I like your shirt... looks like camouflage." My thought was, it's a failure then. He noticed everything.
Matt G.
I've tested this on many waters all over Western Montana and it's fantastic. Helps keep the sun out but also the color scheme helps keep me hidden approaching weary trout. I've also worn it on moderate hikes and it keeps you cool and keeps the bugs off! Must have.
Stephen D.
Exceptional customer service! Very happy with this garment. Great at keeping away oder and it incredibly breathable. Can’t wait to get it out on a long distance hike.
Viktor V.
Really great piece. Lightweight and breathable. Love the look and feel but it does run large. Recently bought a hoodie here in the same size that has smaller fit. Both fit, but they fit differently and honestly I would have thought the hoodie would run larger and an item like this might run smaller, I was wrong. Doesn't matter love both of my Voormi purchases and expect a long life out of them.
Lorne C.
I may have my new favorite piece of hiking gear. I have had wool baselayers before and loved them but wanted something with a hood and also suitable for both warm and cold weather. This has been perfect for that. It is comfortable as a baselayer and has a hood. The purpose of the hood for me is to keep sun of my neck. I wear a hat but it doesn't cover my neck. I don't want to wear one of those hats with the long back on them so a light hood is my preference. I used this for a hike in Southern California the week I got it and it worked out perfectly. It was a warm baselayer in the morning to start the day and as the day warmed up it didn't feel hot at all. Later in the day as I was sweating it still felt good and didn't get smelly. All the while I had the hood on keeping the sun off my neck. I got one in the chalk color (not my first choice) and since I was doing an overnight trip it got rather dirty. It washed up well though.
Highly recommended!
Troy A. E.
River Run is the Gold Standard. Warm and cool when you need it. Supremely light and practical. Always comfortable from 25 to 65
Degrees F.
Jerry C.
It is a light weight shirt that is perfect for fishing or being at the beach or taking a run on a cool morning or a walk on a hot day. Sun protection and feel is as expected. Being thin it is not great for backpack wearers because the rubbing of the straps wears holes in the shirt quickly.
