After a day on the slopes, I like to pull off my bulky ski pants and pull a cute puffy skirt over my base layer for a quick transition to a comfortable après outfit. But Voormi may make me up my game. The Colorado-based company develops its own technical wool fabrics. They are pushing the envelope on how well fabrics can wick and be breathable while still remaining water resistant. The brand-new Solstice skirt is made with their proprietary surface hardened thermal wool, with nylon and wicking fibers added, plus a durable water repellent coating to shed the weather. And since it’s wool, and not puffy, it’s more versatile than the typical mountain-town, après skirt - and good looking. (Check back with Voormi if your size is not available; the skirts sold so well that they are making more now.)
