Dave Karczynski reviews Voormi high-e-hoodi

VOORMI is a new domestic textile manufacturer that may completely change the way we look at Merino wool. Working in collaboration with FishPond, the two companies, have created the High-E-Hoodie made with a material VOORMI calls Surface Hardened Thermal Wool.

I've used Merino wol as a comfortable high-performance base layer for many years, but as an exterior layer if suffered from a back of durability and was too absorbent for wet conditions. To Overcome these faults, Voormi starts with 21.5 Micoro Rocky Mountain High Country wool, then uses a high tech knitting process to interface performance nylon fibers on the exterior of the fabric, and weave synthetic fleece and wool wicking fibers on the interrior to provide insulation.
