About the Headline Photo: Dustin English on the Muldrow Glacier on Denali in a first generation High-E Hoodie, circa 2012.
Co-Founder and Director of Product Integrity, Dustin English, is a professional mountaineering guide who’s worked in some extreme environments all over the world where the transition from cold to hot happens fast – think below-zero nights and days so hot the reflective sun can burn the roof of your mouth. In those conditions, he often found himself either cold, whereas he’d have to stop what he was doing and dig out another layer; or wet, when the temperature’s upswing would cause him to sweat in those extra layers.
That’s when the idea for the
High-E Hoodie was born, the product which would ultimately help launch VOORMI®. The High-E is a midlayer that can span the total environment, from extreme cold to hot, in a natural fiber based platform. Due to its uniqueness as a versatile Merino wool hoodie, there's no question why it is worn by other professionals who make their living outdoors.
Here's what they have to say...
Eric Roberts, Professional Mountain Guide, Alaska
The High-E Hoodie has changed the layering system entirely, creating two layers of protection, durability, and warmth while having the weight of just one.
Nick D’Alessio, AMGA Ski Guide, Alaska
I've been using the same High-E Hoodie for 4 years throughout long Alaska winter seasons and two winter seasons in New Zealand and it's still good to go!
Sean Barnette, Firefighter/Paramedic, Oklahoma
The High-E Hoodie is my go-to layer for fall, winter, and spring for whether I'm on or off duty. It keeps me dry, warm, and comfortable throughout the day.
Adam Phillips, Professional Photographer, Utah
Spending so much time photographing in the mountains the High-E is the perfect layer to protect against varying elements.
Tim Hartmuller, PSIA-RM Cert 3 Ski Instructor, New Zealand
I wear the High-E for just about everything - hiking, skiing, working, having a beer at the bar, you name it.
