This past week, the VOORMI team traveled to Las Vegas for the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - a global stage for groundbreaking innovation. CES showcases everything from smart cities and advanced robotics to cutting-edge haptic devices, futuristic appliances, and even lifelike companion dolls. Amid this sea of revolutionary ideas, VOORMI stood out as the only outdoor brand represented, thanks to our innovative technology, Mij™ - a remarkable achievement given the caliber of innovation at this event.

This leads to a question I often hear: “Why is VOORMI at CES? Why did a clothing brand from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, win a CES Innovation Award for technology?” These are valid questions, and I’m proud to share the answer.

Technology has transformed nearly every aspect of our lives, yet clothing has been left behind. In a world dominated by mass production, finding truly unique apparel is rare. Many outdoor and lifestyle brands charge premium prices for uninspired, poorly crafted products, disguising fleeting trends and seasonal colors as “innovation.” At VOORMI, we’ve chosen a different path. We’ve reimagined clothing - merging technology and advanced textiles to create something extraordinary and new.

Our tagline, “The Future of Clothing,” encapsulates this vision. We are committed to redefining apparel by seamlessly integrating textiles and technology. Mij™ is one of our first steps in this transformative journey. This award-winning innovation enables the collection of biometric data through one of our Ultralight Tech Tees without bulky cords, battery packs, or intrusive hardware. It’s soft sensing technology that’s as seamless and comfortable as the clothing itself.

Throughout the week, our team engaged with a diverse range of individuals - visionaries from leading automotive companies solving different challenges, innovators from the Middle East passionate about advancing digital health, and experts from various industries wondering how we did this. The overwhelming consensus among the hundreds of conversations was clear: they had never seen anything like Mij™. Its potential applications are endless, and the question we kept hearing was, “When can we get this?”

This feedback was not only inspiring but also deeply validating. Hearing from people outside our usual sphere confirmed what we’ve always believed: what we’re creating isn’t just innovative - it’s transformative. Mij™ represents the future of apparel and has the potential to redefine what people expect from clothing, making traditional brands obsolete. The excitement we saw only strengthens our resolve to continue pushing boundaries.

Winning the CES Innovation Award is a powerful affirmation of our belief that clothing must evolve alongside the rest of technology. But this is just the beginning. Mij™ offers a glimpse of what’s possible, and it’s only the first step in our mission to redefine apparel. The future of clothing is here, and VOORMI is leading the way.

Looking ahead, VOORMI is already planning to return to CES in 2026 to continue driving the needle on what textiles and technology can achieve. We can’t wait to share what’s next.
